Focus Zone: Supervised Study Hall

Focus Zone is a supervised study hall designed to provide students with a quiet, productive environment for academic work during open periods at CLA. This space is available for students who are not enrolled in another class during that time and is intended to help students make wise and productive use of their school day.

Students using Study Hall are expected to remain actively engaged in schoolwork at all times. In order to maintain a focused learning environment, the room must remain quiet with no socializing or unnecessary conversation. Study Hall is not intended to be a hang-out space, but rather a place for students to complete assignments, study, read, participate in online coursework, or work independently in a calm setting.

Students participating in live online classes must use headphones or a headset so that the room remains quiet and respectful for others working nearby. Students may not remain in the Study Hall room between periods unless an adult supervisor is present.

Study Hall is considered a privilege at CLA and is designed to support student responsibility, time management, and academic success. By using this space appropriately, students can maximize their time on campus and develop strong independent study habits.
