My Story

Welcome to my educational platform! With over 20 years of teaching experience across all grade levels, I specialize in supporting students with diverse learning needs. I want students in my classes to be exposed to new ideas and different ways of thinking about the information they consume. I will challenge students to think critically about the world around them, take ownership of their education, and stretch their minds in new directions. My passion lies in creating an effective and engaging classroom experience and fostering critical thinking, independence, and a lifelong love for learning. As a wife, mother, and animal lover, I enjoy reading, exploring fiber arts, and learning just about anything new. Join me as we empower students to apply their knowledge to real-life situations and invest in their own educational journeys.

American Literature and Language Arts

This high school level class will explore great American classic literature, analysis, and writing. Students will engage in book discussions, respond to the text and share their discoveries during Socratic discussion, and write about the new concepts they've learned through rhetorical essays and literary analysis. They will discover the significance of how authors use literary devices to communicate ideas and create layers of meaning in their books. They will learn the skills of annotation and expand their vocabularies.

American Literature and Language Arts will be available Monday's and Wednesday's. Each class session will be 75 minutes. Homework will be assigned through Google Classroom and should be completed at home and submitted online. Students will need access to a computer and printer.
